With over three decades of underwriting expertise, she has built her reputation placing the largest and most difficult cases in the business, from impaired risk to high-net-worth estate planning. A dedicated advocate for independent distribution, she has served on numerous underwriting committees and industry panels, including the Risk Appraisal Forum, and has long been a leader within NAILBA. She is equally known for honest leadership and a genuine commitment to mentoring the next generation of the industry.
Christopher Botarro
SVP, Insurance, Valmark Financial Group
Christopher Botarro is Senior Vice President of Insurance at Valmark Financial Group, where he leads the firm's life insurance business lines across marketing, new business, underwriting, in-force policy management, and life settlements. He came up through risk assessment, spending the first decade-plus of his career in underwriting production and leadership at Lincoln Financial Group before joining Valmark in 2015. Since he came aboard, Valmark's life insurance production has doubled, driven by his focus on making the life insurance process simpler and more efficient for advisors and their clients. A board member of LIBRA Insurance Partners and a frequent industry speaker, he brings a risk expert's perspective to the conversations.
